Recently one of our customers in Chandler, Arizona, embarked on a pool deck remodeling journey to revamp their ugly old concrete pool deck with modern silver travertine pavers in a large versailles pattern. As part of the project we also removed a tired fire pit and added artificial turf. The end result truly transformed and elevated their outdoor space.
Step 1 – Pool Deck Planning
The project started with in-depth and thorough planning, including research and decisions on materials, as well as determining any issues that required attention prior to the remodel. With any remodel the preparation of the existing pool deck is key. It was decided that the removal of an old fire pit would contribute to the desired end result.
Step 2 – Pool Deck Preparation and Drainage
One of the primary issues we dealt with during this project was efficient drainage. In Arizona drainage can be an issue, with the combination of extreme heat and intense rainstorms during monsoon season. Our highly experienced team is familiar with what needs to be done to upgrade backyard drainage systems. This is a crucial step in ensuring that the investment in your outdoor space won’t be compromised by flooding, or a build up of stagnant water.
Step 3 – Design and Silver Travertine Pavers
With support from our design team, our customers selected silver travertine pavers displayed in a large Versailles pattern. These pavers are made from natural stone, creating a luxurious, customized aesthetic while being extremely durable, slip resistant, and a great choice for the Arizona climate. The large Versailles pattern is an elegant European look, sometimes also called the French pattern, that is believed to have come from the pattern used for the floors of the Versailles palace. The pattern generally uses four different sizes of paver displayed in an intricate flooring pattern. For this project we utilized stone pavers in the following sizes – 16″x24″, 16″x16″, 16″x8″, and 8″x8″. Turkish travertine is a high quality stone that truly elevates any outdoor space.
Step 4 – Remodeled Modern Silver Travertine Pool Deck
Particular to this project was the perfect combination of materials and pool deck pattern, to elevate the entire backyard. The elegant shape of the pool works perfectly alongside the luxurious modern silver travertine pavers, the Versailles pattern, and the artificial grass. The end result is a poolside paradise that invites everyone to relax and enjoy.
