The Problem
Our clients were dealing with old, cracked concrete on the outdoor surfaces of their commercial property, including their external staircases. The aged and run-down landings, staircases, and entrance to the main building did not reflect the company’s professionalism and did not create the first impression they were looking for. In situations such as this, safety is also an issue and commercial properties are required to be ADA compliant. Damaged and old concrete, with cracks and deterioration, can pose a safety hazard which is a real concern at a commercial location where liability could be an issue.
Located in Phoenix, the property enjoys beautiful views of the valley, with mountain ranges in the distance, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. It was time to upgrade the concrete to match the gorgeous surroundings and to greatly improve the look of the building. The clients were facing an 825-square-foot concrete problem that would cost thousands of dollars to fix.
The Solution
With any commercial project, the scope of work is much larger than when we look at a private home pool deck or patio. And with a larger project, comes a larger budget. But just like our private clients, our commercial clients are always looking for the right solution for their problem, a solution that will deliver high-quality and durable results, while meeting their budget.
Fortunately for our clients, our team has decades of experience working on commercial projects, such as resorts, apartment complexes, luxury gyms, and community centers. After doing a close analysis of the condition of the existing concrete, our team knew that a complete tear-out of all of the concrete wasn’t necessary to deliver the results required. A more unique and budget-friendly approach was to fix the cracks and apply a new acrylic coating to the concrete. Our team got to work and the results speak for themselves.
Our team coated 825 square feet of entrances, walkways, landings, and outdoor staircases with plank grey acrylic coating. What would be quite a large and complicated project for most companies, was not an issue for the concrete coating experts at Imagine Architectural. Spartan Infrastructure was thrilled that we reduced their remodeling budget by more than half. Now they not only have a location they can be proud of, but they also have durable, and maintenance-friendly concrete surfaces surrounding their building.
