Project Spotlight: Gilbert Travertine Tile Pool Deck

We recently worked on a really fantastic project in Gilbert, Arizona. The Town of Gilbert is a growing community near Phoenix, with many beautiful homes and developments. This particular project was a remodel of an existing pool deck.

To begin the project, our team expertly removed the existing patio concrete pavers and sidewalk panels. Next, they prepared the existing pool deck surface, and finally, the team installed brand new travertine pavers.

Travertine tile pavers are an excellent choice for a pool deck remodel for many reasons; including the range of colors and textures available. For this project, our customers selected peach tumbled travertine and chose to display the travertine tile pavers in a three-piece pattern across the entire area of the swimming pool deck.

Travertine tile colors include, but are not limited to; cream, light brown, dark brown, gold, grey, red, walnut, ivory, golden brown, and of course peach. Such a variety of color choices makes it easy to find the color that best compliments the style and architecture of your home. In Arizona, the red and brown tones in this natural stone make it the perfect compliment for desert landscaping. Travertine has become a popular choice for many looking to create or remodel an existing pool deck in the southwest.

Another fantastic feature of travertine is that it absorbs water quickly, helping to create a slip-resistant surface. The natural stone also does a great job of keeping temperatures down underfoot, however, surface temperatures vary depending on the travertine color.

At Imagine Architectural Concrete, we will always recommend that customers invest in taking the time to professionally prepare the surface of an existing pool deck for remodeling. On this project, our team prepared the existing acrylic pool deck before even thinking about laying down the new pavers. After working on over 21,000 projects, our team knows that adequate and professional preparation of the area results in a successful installation that will last for many many years to come.

In addition to the Gilbert travertine tile pool deck, our team also worked on installing a new handrail. The handrail runs the length of the pool deck to the pool itself, for safety and easy pool access. The final product is attractive, functional and a unique backyard living space.
