Every pool deck remodeling project our team works on is an opportunity to create something special, something that clients will love and enjoy for years to come. A recent project in Paradise Valley, Phoenix is a perfect example of this.
The goal with this project was to create a Paradise Valley pool deck area that truly reflects the grandeur of the home. The pool at this home runs almost the length of the main house and is surrounded on three sides by a rich green lawn. The location and large size of the pool creates a unique opportunity for the pool deck to become a design statement, to not only complement the architecture and styling of the home but to become a design focal point on the property. Lending itself to this is the shape of the pool itself. A long rectangular lap pool becomes almost art deco in appearance with a grand entrance with classic rounded lines. (more…)

As pool deck installation and resurfacing experts, “Can I paint my pool deck?” is a question we sometimes hear. So today, we thought it might be helpful to try to answer this question, and to provide some of our insight into whether or not you should, in fact, paint your pool deck.
The first thing we should address is that pool deck paint is rarely the solution to pool decking issues. When we talk about resurfacing a deck what we are really talking about is applying a coating or using specific materials, other than paint. Materials such as acrylic, natural stone, or stamped concrete for example. Ultimately, the times when it is truly appropriate to paint a pool deck are very limited.
Our team recently worked on a project in Phoenix, Arizona that would be any concrete contractors dream. The architecture of this designer home centers around the use of concrete to create unique spaces, that are both stylish and functional. For this post we wanted to share with you some of the unique ways that concrete was used to create a truly stylish finish.
The big question for customers in Arizona and the south west of the United States when choosing pool decking is always, what is the surface with the coolest temperatures during the summer?
Basketball, tennis, soccer, handball, and volleyball are all popular sports in Arizona, played on sport courts in homes and on commercial properties across the Valley. Hundreds of Arizona resorts, parks and sport complexes in Scottsdale, Mesa, Phoenix, Tempe, Chandler, Glendale, Sun City and beyond include sport courts that are well used by the local communities and visitors to the ‘Valley of the Sun’.
Exposed aggregate is a decorative treatment of concrete. This type of concrete surface has been around since the 1900s, and is becoming increasingly popular again. Exposed aggregate is both affordable and stylish, making it a fantastic option for home pool decks, walkways, patios, and driveways.
We worked on a remodeling project recently which is too good not to share. The job location was Scottsdale, Arizona, and the primary material for the pool deck and patio was ‘Boulevard Lights’ limestone.
